If you're a K-pop fanatic, or if you love something Korean, then you must like the 3rd and last of the series of pictorials we did for SM STYLE MANUAL Vol. 12.
Channelling the K-pop phenomenon and the style they breathe in their music videos, SM MEN'S FASHION joins the bandwagon by tapping Korean male models (who are currently studying here in the Philippines) specifically for this pictorial.
Featuring the Dark Heart collection of Boys Teens Wear for Holiday 2012, turn to the dark side of fashion with slim black silhouettes, leather trims, metal studs, goth-rock and loads of punk attitude. All clothes by MARKUS and TANK JEANS.
Check out the new collection available at SM Department Stores nationwide.

INVASION
This is Part 2 of the series of pictorials we did for SM STYLE MANUAL Vol. 12 of SM MEN'S FASHION, and believe me, this is another fave shoot that's worth sharing for all to see (and be amazed with it).
The opening spread seems like a scene from the movie Armageddon, with the models marching on in military fashion. You'll also noticed that we pitted white models versus oriental ones. Quite interesting di ba...
Tough, edgy and back again, fall's utilitarian style in neutral hues and rockstar vibe goes the distance. All clothes by Markus, Tank Jeans and Tee Culture. Style tip: don studded accessories like belts & leatherette cuffs, some medal pins, and get ready to launch a style invasion.
Check out the Holiday 2012 collection of Boys Teens Wear available at SM Department Stores nationwide.

HE'S ON FIRE
I super love this pictorial of ours (certainly one of my favorites we did for the whole year) - from concept to styling to photography to post-production, not to mention model Adriel's enviable long blonde extensions, slim frame and effortless stance - overall, this is a visual firestarter!
And of course, you won't believe this shoot is a part of a series of images included in the latest SM STYLE MANUAL (Vol. 12 to be exact, and was included as inserts in Esquire and FHM issues this month) featuring different fall/winter trends from SM MEN'S FASHION. This is just so conceptual, very editorial in approach, that I believe most of you will burn (with satisfaction, for sure).
So, expect sparks to fly when real men wear pink - especially when styled with modern sporty aesthetics. See this part 1 of the pictorial we did and get oh soooo tickled pink. :-)
All clothes from MARKUS, available at the Boys Teens Wear section in SM Department Stores nationwide.

MAKING N.E.W.S.
I am so impressed, SM MEN'S FASHION is leaping with giant strides and gaining higher grounds with pictorial after pictorial, spoiling us with delightful images of the hottest male specimens in the country - oh well, don't we love men, afterall?
And this as a caution to other local menswear brands: it wouldn't take long before the in-house labels of SM MEN'S FASHION dominate the scene and share the top spot along with other existing retail giants. And with such fearless forecast, SM MEN'S FASHION is making big N.E.W.S. this midyear season, and is headed in all the right directions.
SM MEN'S FASHION encourages you to free your mind from the stern rules of manhood in this new Style Manual (Vol. 10) that you'll get free when you buy the latest issue of PEOPLE ASIA Magazine. For in the unchartered corners of the earth, you will find freedom in every direction imaginable - whether north, east, west or south - stylish expressions stripped of restrictions.
Let spirits soar and experience life from here and beyond in an all new collection by SM MEN'S FASHION targetted for pre-fall. I am particularly excited about this style manual that I art directed all throughout. Thanks Ayen Florendo (Marketing Head) for entrusting me this shoot done with some editorial flair. Thanks everybody in the creative team, our Tagaytay Highlands experience is definitely one for the history books!
See the product of our hardwork while the journey of SM MEN'S FASHION begins now.

DRESSED TO THRILL
"You may have missed our hot men in this season's Philippine Fashion Week, but they are definitely making the fashion headlines their runway! Grab this month's ESQUIRE and get the latest (Volume 9) SM STYLE MANUAL" said Ayen Florendo, Marketing Head of SM Men's Fashion, in her Facebook status last week.
This new style manual also officially welcomes its new endorser, Brazilian-Japanese hunk, Daniel Matsunaga for SM Men's Wear. However, this blog article will only dwell on our work with SM Boys Teens.
Sure enough, the pictorial we had for this was hard-lucked -- we were kicked out of our original location during the time we're about to shoot by some bad, fat-assed guy from MAPSA lording over that piece of abandoned property somewhere in Guadalupe, Makati. This swell-headed guy denied us the permit to shoot, even when we initially received an approval from the caretaker of the poor property. Our team even called on the higher officials of MAPSA, somebody from Makati City Hall, and a military general allied with Vice President Jejomar Binay to process the required permit he was telling, but still he refused to accommodate us... Really? With the VP's name already involved as well as a higher official intervening, and with the gigantic SM obviously one of the biggest companies in the Philippines, I wonder what happened to this guy after that untoward incident. Do I foresee somebody being axed because of arrogance, irresponsibility and disrespect? Tsk tsk...
Sigh, we have to thank Raffy Tesoro for allowing us, without batting his eyelash, to shoot at Edifice Studio in a hush-hush. Just imagine all the inconvenience if the shoot didn't push through - SM Men's Fashion would still have to pay everybody if everything was cancelled!
Anyways, praise God, with all the things that happened, we were able to adapt and do the concept we had in mind, and definitely, you would have to agree that this pictorial is not your usual SM stuff. Glad that Ayen is also thinking forward, and kudos to everyone for doing a great job despite of the odds. Thanks photographers Filbert Kung and Glenn Peter Perez, glad we were able to work again after a long while!
So here it goes, DRESSED TO THRILL. Definitely spine-tingling underground fashion by SM Boys Teens Wear that takes you to the far limits of your weirdest and darkest imagination!

CRIMINAL MINDS
Butterflies are already filling my stomach as I write this blog entry. Super excited indeed to the highest level! Tonight, my partner George Palmiano & I (MGP Team) will be styling for the Boys Teens Wear segment of the first, big solo show of SM MEN'S FASHION at the SMX Convention Center, Hall 2 at 7:30 PM - and can't wait anymore, as they say, to kick some ass!
By the way, I'd like to thank those who joined the promo I launched recently, congrats to Ryan Machado, Alvin Claveria, Jenny Mabitazan, Tedd Mabitazan, Joshua Booc, Alaine Salamoding, Ronald Ramiro, Joel Herminio, Reinhel Sicat, Patrick Terrado, Paolo Co, Joseph Bersalona, Patricia Co, Rigel de Guzman (kamag-anak ba kita?), Meryl Rovillos, Patricia Aro, and Michi Camana. All of which are getting free invites - and please do tag a friend or somebody along (para mas enjoy di ba?).
To give you all an idea of what we will showcase later - in terms of looks & fashion - please allow me to share this pictorial we've done for the latest style manual of SM MEN'S FASHION that highlights different trends for the fall/winter. Entitled CRIMINAL MINDS, this is SM's conceptual and offbeat interpretation of the different men that lurk in sinister shadows, but with awesome, fashionable taste. For more information, also check out Mader Luis Espiritu's blog entry: http://stylenarratives.blogspot.com/2011/10/tales-from-dark-side.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+StyleNarratives+%28Style+Narratives%29.
To our formidable team: Mader Ayen Florendo & co., Geo Palmiano & the whole MGP team, Luis Espiritu & his style associates, Bobby Carlos & his team, tonight's gonna be a good night don't you think?! :-)
