DIVINE / DIVA

For many contributing fashion stylists, styling for a cover of a magazine is already something 'big' to make the portfolio rise on a higher scale. For me and my partner George Palmiano, styling for two of the country's foremost fashion icons is not just one of our career's highlights - it is also a reminder for us to be thankful and keep grounded with an opportunity that doesn't happen all the time.

This August, we're more than grateful to present our latest styling work for PEOPLE ASIA Magazine featuring MS. GRETCHEN BARRETTO and REP. LUCY TORRES-GOMEZ both battling it out on a cover that interchanges their roles and personalities as the "Divine" and as the "Diva".

On Gretchen: Long sheer dress with lace applique by Louis Claparols, all accessories by Rustan's Silver Vault; On Lucy: Black embellished Grecian dress by Noel Crisostomo, all jewelry items by Jul B. Dizon.

Ironically, being two of the most adored faces and most fashionable figures in local showbiz, Gretchen and Lucy were both pegged as Snow White and the Queen, only in reverse mode. Although I personally find the red apple too literally referenced, choosing the two icons of elegance are perfect and exhillirating for heading Stargate People Asia's Women of Style and Substance for 2012.

Of course, it can't be denied that we're also meager fans in the presence of these two deities. Geo and I are thankful to People Asia for another memorable experience (they also gave us the opportunity to style for Gretchen's cover last year), especially to Ms. Joanne Rae Ramirez (editor-in-chief), Chino C. (art director), Tatum Ancheta and Kristel Dacumos-Lagorza for always taking care of us. Thanks also to Mader Luis Espiritu for pushing us to do this assignment.

I love Lucy :-)
