Have a SLICE!
We've waited for almost an eternity (exag!) for this to come out, and finally - thank God! - we will be able to see the work we've done for the newest magalogue in town called SLICE.
Now, my partner George and I understand the long process of doing the magalogue layouts - the first issue must look perfect, for Editor-in-Chief Ric Gindap is a perfectionist himself. We were wowed by the cover design, it's sleek and genuinely modern, very crisp and intelligently gathered all together.
From the same team that brought you MONDAY Magazine, our experience with SLICE is almost a reunion with old comrades Sir Ric, fashion editor Bonnapart Galeng, art director Marlon Lacanilao, HMUA Fred Penales of Hairshaft Salon and cover girl, Ms. World 1st Runner-up 2011, Gwen Ruais. SLICE is published by Altodesign, and you can get it for free in various high end shops, restaurants, hotels, coffee shops and other lifestyle establishments - very soon.
According to Sir Ric, SLICE started when they had an opportunity to collaborate with jewelry designer Wynn Wynn Ong's friends, Steve and Malou, who asked for his help in creating their products' magalog. Here are a few pages of the major layouts we did with delectable macaroons which got color-coordinated with high end chairs and home accessories along with a variously stylized Gwen Ruais.

PRETTY IN PINK
It seems that VEEJAY FLORESCA has gone way beyond his contemporaries at Mega Young Designers Competition and Project Runway some few years back.
The petite young designer doesn't have to win those big design competitions; he has made a name for himself. Being a lover of fascinating beauty and exciting fashion, Veejay is one of the designers of this generation to turn to when it comes to extravagant evening concoctions to whimsical wedding delights.
This season, Veejay is tickled pink with a lovely new lookbook that emphasizes on some of his ultra-feminine couture creations. The all-pink collection of long dresses is a refreshing color trend to uphold in this time of the year with mostly dark clouds and scattered rain showers. From frothy to slitted to sheer to extreme volumes - Veejay's elegant statement will definitely make women wearing his gowns feel pretty and delicate like blushing roses in bloom.
For orders and inquiries, you may reach VEEJAY FLORESCA at 9194086 (office) or +639175013535 (mobile). Email at veejayfloresca@gmail.com.

YUMMY COUTURE
When you say designer collaboration, this is certainly one of the best (and most creative) I've seen this year - HAPPY ANDRADA x BREADTALK.
Nope, the talented young designer didn't bake her own bread... or pastry or cake for that matter. Happy did the "bread talk" by whipping up couture creations made out of abaca and carton boxes that were made to look like varieties of bread. Yummy!
Actually, let me correct myself. Happy won a design contest launched by BREADTALK. The mannequins wearing her winning pieces are now on display at their Market! Market! branch. Happy is just winning a lot of competitions here and abroad lately!
Now, can't wait to have my fave fire floss - 50% fire & 50% floss! Etchos!

FOREVER YOUNG
Ohemgee, I think I had been quite detached lately - of all places I'll find our styling work for Chalk Magazine, it wasn't in the magazine itself but somewhere in the internet!
I had been looking forward to seeing this pictorial we did with SLATER YOUNG. Too bad, it came out last June and I was caught unaware of it. Maybe I'll call the ever-lovable Toff de Venecia (Lifestyle Editor of Chalk) for a copy. Can't miss out on having a memorabilia with a cutie like Slater!
In a pictorial that features two Siberian Huskies (I love dogs!), Chalk sees Slater as a pack leader. As you know, the Pinoy Big Brother grand winner is fast gaining a tumultuous fan base. Aside from the fact that he's cute and styled clean, Slater is very nice and cheery, ever smiling like a cuddlesome boy. Although I think he has grown thinner after bagging the PBB title (perhaps due to stress inside Kuya's house?), I do hope Slater becomes successful in his entry to local showbiz.
Although it's no longer meaningful to tell you all to grab a copy of Chalk featuring Slater, I simply want to share this unforgettable experience. Thanks particularly Christopher de Venecia, we look forward to our 3rd styling job for Chalk!
