PINOY DESIGNERS RULE ANTM CYCLE 17

I don't know with you, but I watch America's Next Top Model by heart, and I am excited to find out that Dubai-based Pinoy designer MICHAEL CINCO makes a pretty comeback this Cycle 17 All Stars, Episode 9 (which airs this Wednesday).

News are out that in Episode 9, entitled "Nikos Papadopoulos", the final six contestants find out that they are headed to magnificent Greece, and were given the opportunity to collaborate with master couturier MICHAEL CINCO on what could potentially be their final runway gown. And can't wait to see this on YouTube!

The said designer has already appeared in Cycle 16, where he made glorious couture out of eco-friendly materials.

Acclaimed Pinoy designer Michael Cinco with Nigel Barker and Jay Manuel during the past ANTM Cycle (16).

Remember this fluid gun metal long gown that Michael Cinco created for Cycle 16, in which model Alexandria won in that week's photo challenge? Alexandria returned to Cycle 17 All Stars but was eliminated in last week's Episode 8 (Game).

Although others have heard about this, I am anxious to know that there was another Filipino designer whose creations were featured in this cycle's earlier episode, the US-based OLIVER TOLENTINO (who recently held a solo fashion show here as MetroWear Icon for 2011). Oliver's dresses were worn by 7 of the 13 “All Star” contestants on Episode 2 of Cycle 17. The dresses were chosen for the Pink’s hotdog stand photo shoot in an episode entitled “Ashlee Simpson”. Three of the creations featured eco-friendly fabrics from the Philippines. According to the designer, a stylist from ANTM came to his Melrose Avenue boutique and asked to pull dresses for their show.  Here are the pictures from the said episode:

Kudos to these designers who are doing great abroad! Pinoy fans are truly proud of you!
